Here we go... Eldoraigne!

Wordwide, we are a disciple making movement that exists to honour God and advance His Kingdom through planting disciple-making churches that will plant disciple-making churches… Hence Eldoraigne.

We believe that the church is God’s vehicle to bring change in society. God has given the responsibility of establishing the values of the Kingdom of God in every sphere of society to the church – a body of believers.

In 2010 God called us to plant a church in Centurion. This was the birth of the congregation in Southdowns. Now in 2013 we know that God is calling us to plant a congregation in Eldoraigne, Centurion.

The way that we plant churches is through reaching lost people and establishing them in Christ (making disciples). This is the process we will now also follow for planting Eldoraigne. We have identified a couple of key leaders that we know also carry the heart and DNA and have asked them to pray about becoming involved with the church plant in Eldoraigne. This is where we are at the moment.

Riette and I have been asked to lead the team that will start engaging in Eldoraigne. For both of us this is a really exciting challenge and something that we are really looking forward to. After we have finalised the team that will be part of the church plant we will have a vision night where we will share the heart, dream and action plan for reaching Eldoraigne.

Currently we are really in the "preparation to go" phase and after I come back from the church plant school we will actively start working with the team. Please pray specifically that God will prepare the way for us into Eldoraigne. That He will provide the open doors into the community and that He will reveal to us the men and woman of peace.

I am incredibly excited to share this journey with you!!

Olievenhoutbosch Baptism Service

There are very few things that can really compare to seeing a person’s life being impacted by the love and power of God. When God starts working in someone’s life and you see a change that is actually humanly impossible.

This is what we are seeing in Olievenhoutbosch.

Johan Visser has been discipling Nicolas and Philemon for a while now. And it has been incredible to see the change that comes, not only in their own lives, but also in their marriages. Simple obedience-based discipleship. A couple of weeks ago both Philemon and Nicholas attended the Victory Training (a high impact weekend where foundational Biblical truths are laid) and God started working with them in the area of baptism.

On the 23rd of July both of them got baptized. It was such an amazing day that we got to share with the greater church family. Philemon’s wife, Ashley, organised to work a double shift on Saturday so that she could also be there for the baptism the Sunday.

This is really a testimony of the Kingdom of God coming into the heart of a person and working a transformation that will impact everything and everyone around that person. I know that these two men will stand tall in their community and shine brightly for the Kingdom of God…

Missions Focus : Thailand

Thailand is a country of about 70,000,000 people with the primary religion being Buddhism. Currently Christianity only makes out 1.3% of the nation's population.

Nick, Madelein and their daughter have been serving at the Every Nation church in Bangkok. Currently they are back in South Africa till at least the end of the year. Here is some news from Nick...

For the last 300 years Thailand has been a place where missionaries would come and go, and although the country has always been open for all religions many missionaries consider that Thailand is a missionary's graveyard. As Every Nation we do not believe this to be something that would get us down. Our trust and foundation is built on Jesus and we believe that Thailand will be reached for Jesus.

The Church in Thailand has gone through many challenges the last 2 years where the Leadership transitions have been happening and makes it difficult for Thais to accept. Raising leaders have been a big challenge in Thailand but by God's grace he has really protected much of the leaders in Church.

Our main ministry focus is Campus Ministry where we have around 550 000 students at our doorstep, engaging students take time and commitment and we believe that God has a major plan with our congregation in Thailand.

We have really seen some major breakthroughs in many areas of ministry where people in connect groups that have been unsaved and a part of the church for years finally excepted Jesus as their saviour.

Finally in terms of prayer points we really need prayer for the following:

1. For our leaders, that they will be led by the spirit, that they will be healthy spiritually and physically.
2. For our venue that is coming up for renewal of contract, that we will have the wisdom to know what we need.
3. For more leaders to be raised.
