Missions Focus : South Sudan

As an Every Nation family we have a passion for missions - birthed from God's love for the nations.

Psalm 2:8 - Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance...

This was God's promise to Jesus. That He will give Him the nations as His inheritance. As believers, we stand and are partakers of that promise.

As part of this blog I will be sharing news and prayer points from the nations. Intentionally directing our hearts, thoughts and prayers towards the nations - Jesus' inheritance. May the nations also be on our hearts...

South Sudan

On the 25th of February De Wet and Miemie Spies left South Africa to join the team in South Sudan to plant a discple-making church in South Sudan.

They got work in Juba working at CCC (Confident Children out of Conflict). From there they will build relationships with the locals and the expats and on the campus in Juba.

Here is the latest news from the team in Juba. Pray and trust with us for the work God is doing in South Sudan... If you receive any specific word for the team please mail it to me @ jaco.oldewage@enpta.co.za

* De Wet and Miemie arrived safely in Juba on Tuesday morning. They met the girls and staff at CCC and look forward to start their work there.

* We have a new addition to the team! Johannes Swart (photo attached) will be joining us on Monday, he accepted a job with Ignatius at ESP International - we look forward to his arrival!

* Ignatius and Louise's house was finished in record time and they were also able to put in a small pool - amazing blessing in this heat!

* Stevo has had some amazing conversations and deepening relationships with some of the men at Pub Church.

* Sanmari stands amazed at God's supernatural involvement in sending key people across their paths with ample opportunities to go deeper into God's Word together.

* De Wet started his first connect group today with the South Sudanese men who work at ESP International.

Please pray intentionally with us for the following:

* For breakthrough in Stevo and Ig's business ventures - they are trusting for the right investors and proper funding before they can continue.

* For the right connections with the right people (men and women of peace) to find open doors into the various communities to share the Gospel.

* That God will continue to build and protect the unity in our team - in heart and spirit (Ephesians 4:1-3).

* That De Wet and Miemie's accommodation at CCC will also be completed in record time.

* That Miemie will have favour with the girls at CCC and be able to identify the leaders and disciple them thoroughly in the Word.

* For the right job for De Wet - one that will keep him in close contact with South Sudanese nationals.

* For the success of Jean's studies.

* That Louise will have favour with the teachers at her school as she works with them and reach out to them, also that her relationships with the girls at CCC would bear much fruit.

* That Johannes will have safe travels and settle in smoothly and comfortably in Juba.

Thank you team! We loved having a quick skype call with everyone at Pretoria's International Food Evening!! And we appreciate every one of you, from Paarl, Bloemfontein, Stellenbosch and all over the nation and beyond - together, we will see this nation transformed according to God's will!

Blessings

Students saying YES to Christ!!

This has really been an exciting start to the year on our campuses. We have seen God open some amazing doors and we've seen God working incredibly in the lives of students...

Last year I started walking with Elijah who studies at Centurion Academy. In that time we were praying for some of his friends to come to know Christ. This year Elijah invited Tumi (one of those friends) along for coffee. We had the opportunity to share the gospel with Tumi and he committed his life to Christ. Afterwards we prayed for Johan, another one of their friends...

The very next week they brought Johan along to Connect Group and he also gave his life to Christ! It is an incredibly privilege to walk with these 3 men as they are so hungry to obey Jesus. Their passion for God and His Kingdom is really infectious and they have a great desire to see all their friends come to know Jesus.

During the week they have a Bible study with their friends and they shared about what God was busy doing in their lives. They felt an urgency to pray together and God really moved. Henning, another one of the friends they were praying for, felt God move and he surrendered his life to Jesus.

Tumi got baptized in February and that got Johan asking about baptism. I gave him scriptures to go and read and encouraged him to search the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to bring a conviction. The next week Johan came back and said that he reads in the Bible that people gave their lives to Christ and then they were baptized - and he wanted to be obedient...

When I baptized Tumi I said to him that he must pay attention, because the next time he will do it... So on the 18th of March Tumi baptized Johan. These past couple of weeks have been an incredible journey with these young men, seeing their faith and the work that God does in and through their lives. I am so excited for the holidays to end to get back together with these young men and see how they make a difference on their campuses!

Celebrating 5 years of God's faithfulness...

The past 5 years have been incredible for us as Pretoria City Wide churches. We have seen how God is faithful to His call on people's lives. We've seen how God is busy transforming a city and moving way beyond our wildest dreams or imagination. 5 years ago we could not have imagined what we would see today...

It started with a small team of 9 people saying yes to the call of God to move from Stellenbosch to plant a church in Pretoria. In many ways God used the unskilled and untrained to start a movement that will testify of His greatness and His glory. From meeting together in a house it has grown into 4 congregations in Lynnwood, Centurion, Inner City and Willows as well as a new church plant in Bloemfontein. We've seen God bless us with our own property from which we will train and send out church planters into Africa to see God's dream for Africa come into reality. Currently we also have 3 new upcoming congregation plants in Olievenhoutbosch, Mamelodi and the Moot.

God has shown that when He calls people He will make the way, He will provide. We are really standing in awe of a faithful God who is able to do much more than we can think or ask...

On Sunday the 17th of March we came together as city wide congregations to celebrate God in a carnival of thanks...

Olievenhoutbosch Fellowship Sunday

On this exciting church planting journey in Olievenhoutbosch we have started with monthly fellowship Sundays with the aim of getting all the people from all the discipleship groups and the people we are engaging together to fellowship. Our heart is to start a culture of getting together in the Word on Sundays and sharing life together. We want this to grow into regular Sunday services birthed from being family together.

On the 10th of March we came together with Kazebo's and cooldrink. Sharing what God is doing in our lives, getting to know new people and my parents were also able to come and visit us the Sunday. It really was an incredible day and I am so excited for the next one. The people from Olievenhoutbosch have already started giving their input for the next one, that we should stay longer afterwards and do activities together.
This is exactly what we have been trusting God for - a church plant birthed from within the people, for the people...
