Church Leadership Experience 2012

What an amazing time we had with about 200 leaders from different churches and different denominations - all with the same heart, to see discipleship happen in their churches.

The school/experience was led by two God-fearing men with the same heart and values, Philip Pretorius and Floyd McClung. During this 3 day encounter they imparted their hearts into passionate, seeking and teachable leaders who have a heart to see their communities change.

Jesus gave the commands, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men" & "Go and make disciples".
The call to discipleship came from Jesus.
And these +/- 200 leaders came as a response to that call...

Throughout the 3 days we were flooded with testimonies of discipleship happening in and through ordinary men and woman. Ordinary, but obedient. During break times people were fellowshipping together, but almost every conversation was an intentional one: "What can I learn from what you are doing".

I was really so blessed by the humility and teachability of leaders, some much older than me, as they hunger for change, as they hunger to see lives, churches, communities and even cities transformed.

Imagine the possibilities of 200 leaders obeying the call of Jesus to "Go and make disciples" and impacting the people around them. Teaching them to do the same... We can see a transformed city/town/community FILLED with God-honouring disciples!!!

A transformed community...

I am really so excited about the discipleship group in Olievenhoutbosch.
It's so amazing to see how a simple Bible study tool can help people to unlock the treasures found in the Word.

Our groups are based on the discovery Bible study method. We take a piece of scripture and then ask 5 questions. From these 5 questions they understand the Word for themselves, laying foundations of truth through knowledge they discoved themselves.

We spend on average 1hour on 2 pieces of scripture and I am so amazed at the actual simplicity of God's Word when we are willing to explore what it says. We are literally starting from scratch, laying the foundations as if there are none.

I am really excited to see how their understanding of God's Word, God, Jesus, salvation, Godly living etc will impact and transform their community!!!
Discipleship even taking place further than just the Word. Louis is currently doing his Grade 9 and Christo is helping him with some of his assignments...

This is John. He came out of prison in November 2011. During his time in prison he committed his life to Jesus and went through the Alpha course. He really has a solid understanding and foundation of who Jesus is. He does not really have any friends he can fellowship with, so these new friendships are good for him!!!
