Every Wednesday evening we have "Praise and Worship" where I get together with Ds Christo Viljoen as he meets up with a couple of students from Centurion Academy. At the beginning of the year this has been such a great open door for me to build relationships with students on al three C.A. campusses.
My relationship with "Oom Dominee", as we call him, has grown to such an extent that we could chat about discipleship. The students have a real love for God, but their lives are passive. I shared with Ds Christo the concepts of discipleship from the Word. He completely bought into it, but we both new that this will be challenging to the students. Discipleship challenges every bit of passive religion we might walk with. But... despite the obvious challenges we will face, he GAVE THE GREEN LIGHT!
We have started with an introduction to discipelship from the Word (Mark 1:17 & John 15:8) that discipleship and making discples is not optional for a person following Jesus. And that discipleship and making disciples honours God! I am really excited to journey with the students and to see how they buy into Jesus' model of discipleship and give their lives for it.
Our vision is that the students will be discipled and equipped to go into their different campusses and make disciples! And all the fruit that WILL come from this will bring glory to God.
