Last year I started walking with Elijah who studies at Centurion Academy. In that time we were praying for some of his friends to come to know Christ. This year Elijah invited Tumi (one of those friends) along for coffee. We had the opportunity to share the gospel with Tumi and he committed his life to Christ. Afterwards we prayed for Johan, another one of their friends...The very next week they brought Johan along to Connect Group and he also gave his life to Christ! It is an incredibly privilege to walk with these 3 men as they are so hungry to obey Jesus. Their passion for God and His Kingdom is really infectious and they have a great desire to see all their friends come to know Jesus.
During the week they have a Bible study with their friends and they shared about what God was busy doing in their lives. They felt an urgency to pray together and God really moved. Henning, another one of the friends they were praying for, felt God move and he surrendered his life to Jesus.
Tumi got baptized in February and that got Johan asking about baptism. I gave him scriptures to go and read and encouraged him to search the Word of God and allow the Holy Spirit to bring a conviction. The next week Johan came back and said that he reads in the Bible that people gave their lives to Christ and then they were baptized - and he wanted to be obedient...When I baptized Tumi I said to him that he must pay attention, because the next time he will do it... So on the 18th of March Tumi baptized Johan. These past couple of weeks have been an incredible journey with these young men, seeing their faith and the work that God does in and through their lives. I am so excited for the holidays to end to get back together with these young men and see how they make a difference on their campuses!
